The Data Exporter tool creates Comma Separated Value (CSV) files for your exported objects based on your export preferences. You can download and import these files into any data loader application in order to migrate them into the Salesforce Field Service schema.
The export results list shows all the object files you exported from your backup file. To refine the list of objects, use the Filter or Search options.
The export results can show different statuses that you can track. The most common ones are Pending Export, Failed, and Completed. If some of your files fail to export, the Partially Completed status shows. There are also interim statuses that you can track, such as Read from Source, Write to CSV, and Generate Package.
» To download a file:
- From the Actions column, click the Download icon on the relevant file.
-
Save the file to your computer. To access your CSV file, you’ll need to provide the
encryption key you used when exporting the data.
Note The Owner column shows who owns the exported object file. You can only download object files that you own since you hold and manage the data encryption key.
When the export results include object files that were already exported in an earlier backup file, the CSV files are updated with the latest data from the new backup file. However, if you initially selected to export a sample set of your data, and later exported a full set of the data, the two object files are kept.
If you selected more than one object to export, after the export completes, all the object files that were created during the export are grouped together into a virtual container, or a bundle. In the export results list, these files will have the “Bundle of” prefix in the FSE Name column. Hover over the bundle name to see all the object names included in that bundle. You’ll be able to see up to 50 names.
For better performance, CSV files are limited to a maximum of 30,000 records. If the data you’re exporting exceeds this limit, the data is split across multiple CSV files. The files will follow the same naming convention, but they’ll be numbered. When you download an object file, all its CSV files download together.
