Configure Release Management for IT Services
Enable the required settings for Release Management and configure additional features to work seamlessly with it.

Tip To track your progress, select the checkbox next to each setup task
after you complete it.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Salesforce Go.
- In the search box, find and select Release Management.
- Click Get Started.

Turn on Release Management.
- In the Turn on Release Management section, click Turn On.
- Click Confirm.
- To customize the page layout for releases, in the Add Components, Fields, and Actions to Lightning Record Pages section, click Manage.
- To assign permission sets to release fulfillers and managers, in the Manage User Access section, click Manage.
- To define custom fields and picklist values for release records, in the Manage Types of IT Releases section, click Go to Setup.
- To configure the release approval process, in the Set Up Release Approval Process section, click Go to Setup.

Set up optional features, including release templates, notifications, and event
types.
- Define release templates to manage the stages of the release lifecycle and associated tasks. See Stage Management for Agentforce IT Service.
- Configure release notifications to deliver IT service release updates through your preferred communication channels. See Notifications for IT Services.
- Set up predefined release event types on the IT Service Calendar to schedule and track releases more effectively. See IT Service Calendar.
- Turn on default field validations to maintain data accuracy throughout the release
lifecycle.
Default field validations help prevent common errors during record creation and updates. These fields are validated and must meet the required input rules.
