Available in Lightning Experience. View supported editions.
          User Permissions Needed
To view Knowledge Settings in Setup:

          Knowledge User license

          Note
Note If Knowledge in Salesforce Classic is already enabled in your org, use the Lightning Knowledge Migration Tool instead of enabling Knowledge here.
          1. From Setup, enter Knowledge in the Quick Find box and click Knowledge Settings.
          2. On the Knowledge Settings page, click Edit.
          3. Select Enable Lightning Knowledge.
            Note
Note To enable Lightning Knowledge, you must have one article type. After you enable Lightning Knowledge, you can’t disable it.
          4. Enable any other Knowledge settings that you want.
          5. Click Save.

After Lightning Knowledge is enabled, Knowledge appears in the Object Manager. This is where you control your Lightning Knowledge settings and page layouts.

Whenever you change the name and API name of your Knowledge Base in Object Manager, we recommend that you do a hard refresh of your browser to avoid server errors. Changing the knowledge base name also affects customizations, Apex, and SOQL queries.

          Important
Important Enabling Lightning Knowledge changes your Org's data model to use record types rather than article types. Orgs with multiple articles types require data migration to consolidate article types before enabling Lightning Knowledge. Remember, after you enable Lightning Knowledge, you can't disable it. Test in a Sandbox or Trial org before enabling in production.
