Configure optimization so you can schedule appointments and address last-minute
challenges. You can set up optimization to run automatically, or run it manually. Activate
optimization to create an optimization user and profile required for accessing a
optimization services. When you’re using Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization, this
activation isn't required, because Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization uses a Platform
Integration User.

The Agentforce Field Service and Operations core features, managed package, and
mobile app are available in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer
Editions.

To create users:
Manage Internal Users
This is a Field Service managed package feature.
Note Setting up optimization consumes one Salesforce license, so check that a license
is available.
From the App Launcher, find and open the Field Service
Admin app, and then click the Field Service Settings
tab.
Click Optimization | Activation. Click Create Optimization Profile to create an
optimization profile and an optimization user that submits optimization requests. If
optimization is already activated, this button isn't available. A user ID shows who
activated the optimization service.
When you’re prompted, switch to the newly created optimization user.
From Setup, navigate to the Users page and
locate the optimization user.
Click Edit next to the user and select
Active on their profile.
If you deactivate the optimization user, you can’t use
optimization.
Select Generate new password and notify user
immediately.
Log out.
When you receive the password reset email, click the link and complete the
steps to log in as the optimization user.
Note You must log in as the FSL Optimization user from the
Salesforce login screen and not by clicking Log In
next to the FSL Optimization user in Setup.
When you’re logged in, click the + icon in the tab bar to see your full list of
tabs. Click the Field Service Settings tab.
Click Activate Optimization.
Click Allow to allow remote site access and be
redirected back to Field Service Settings.
Log out as the optimization user and log back in with your regular username and
password.
