          You can use Einstein Activity Capture as a standalone tool or with other features. By itself, Einstein Activity Capture automates data entry, ensuring your team has more accurate data without the manual effort. When integrated with Salesforce Inbox, see engagement data alongside email messages in the activity timeline. Combine it with Einstein Conversation Insights to get a complete view of both written and verbal customer interactions. And with Agentforce, your AI agents gain deep context about customer relationships from real email messages.

          Setting up Einstein Activity Capture is a shared effort. A Salesforce admin connects Salesforce to an existing Microsoft or Google account. Sometimes, the admin works with the Microsoft or Google account admin to import user access permissions. After the connection, the Salesforce admin configures Einstein Activity Capture settings, which can be tailored to different user roles. When the admin configuration is done, sales reps and other users connect to and customize their personal settings in Einstein Activity Capture. To get even more out of the captured data, Salesforce admins and users can create and customize workflow automations and reports.

          • How Einstein Activity Capture Works
            Einstein Activity Capture captures or syncs email and event data, including participants, from the connected Microsoft or Google account and stores it in Salesforce. Understand at a high-level the relationship between your Microsoft or Google account data and how it connects to and powers your Salesforce data and features.
          • Differences Between Einstein Activity Capture Editions
            Einstein Activity Capture Standard is available for users who don’t have Performance or Unlimited editions or a Sales Cloud Einstein, Inbox, Sales Engagement, or Revenue Intelligence license. Einstein Activity Capture has a few differences depending on which version you use.
          • Einstein Activity Capture Security
            To protect your data and remain compliant, review the security features of Einstein Activity Capture. Security features include access and authentication, network access configuration, Exchange Web Services and Microsoft Graph API usage, data flow, storage, encryption, privacy, and retention policies.
          • Update and Migrate to Sync Email as Salesforce Activity
            If you set up Einstein Activity Capture before Summer ’25, update to turn on Sync Email as Salesforce Activity and migrate previously captured email to activity data. The Sync Email as Salesforce Activity setting saves all captured email data as activity data. This data is available to platform tools and operations, including AI and agent-based features, standard reports, workflow automation, and APIs. Customize how emails are matched to contacts, leads, accounts, and opportunities. Control what gets captured: the entire email or just the header. And manage email sharing and all other activity sharing from one setting.
          • Upgrade Microsoft Office 365 Authentication Method to Microsoft Graph
            Microsoft is retiring Exchange Web Services (EWS) for Microsoft Office 365 in October 2026. Microsoft Graph API replaces EWS. Upgrade the authentication method of Einstein Activity Capture, Inbox, and Lightning Sync to use Microsoft Graph to avoid service disruption.

            Get your sales reps up and running with Einstein Activity Capture. Give users access to Einstein Activity Capture. Connect your company’s email and calendar application to Salesforce, and create a configuration that controls how data moves between applications. Define settings such as which data to exclude and how activities are shared. When you’re done configuring Einstein Activity Capture, your users have some setup to do, too.
