Connect Experience Cloud to Data Cloud

Connect Experience Cloud to Data Cloud

To provide customers the personalized, individual experiences they now expect, you need detailed insights about your users and how you can best engage with them. By connecting your enhanced LWR sites to Data Cloud, you can capture and send user interaction data, such as clicks, scrolls, and product interactions, to Data Cloud. From there, you can organize your data and use it to create unified profiles, build robust site analytics, personalize your sites, generate recommendations, and discover new ways to use AI.

Note This topic includes steps found in multiple products and requires different roles to complete.

          Set Up Data Cloud

If you’re new to Data Cloud, your org requires some setup to get everything flowing correctly.

          Required Editions

          User Permissions Needed
To access Data Cloud Setup: System Administrator
          • Data Cloud admin: If you’re new to Data Cloud, start with Get Started Using Data Cloud. If not, skip to the next task on this page, Connect Your Enhanced LWR Site to Data Cloud.
          • If you plan to connect your site to a non-default data space, see Create a Data Space.

Connect Your Enhanced LWR Site to Data Cloud

To capture detailed information about your site interactions and send it to Data Cloud for ingestion, connect your enhanced LWR site to Data Cloud.

          Required Editions

          User Permissions Needed
To create an Experience Cloud site: Create and Set Up Experiences AND View Setup and Configuration
To customize or publish an Experience Cloud site:
          • Create and Set Up Experiences AND View Setup and Configuration AND be a member of the site

            OR

          • View Setup and Configuration AND be a member of the site AND have appropriate role-based site access
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences and then click All Sites.
          2. Find the enhanced LWR site that you want to connect to Data Cloud and click Builder.
          3. In Experience Builder, go to Settings | Integrations.
          4. On the Data Cloud card, select Add to Site.
          5. Click Share site data with Data Cloud.

After you connect an LWR site to a data space, you can’t change the connection to a different data space. This limitation also applies to Data Cloud integrations created in Spring ’25 or earlier, which use the default data space. You can’t move data from one data space to another. To use a different data space, delete the site’s Data Cloud integration, and then reconfigure the integration with the new data space.

The integration process can take up to an hour.

          6. Check your email for confirmation that your setup is complete. When you receive your confirmation email, publish your site.

          Track User Interactions

After your integration is set up, a set of interaction events is automatically mapped to Data Cloud. User consent is turned off by default for Experience Cloud sites. That means that even if you turn on Data Cloud, user information isn’t captured until you consent on behalf of your customers or implement a consent-management platform (CMP) app.

          1. Create consent management options.
          2. Check out our event reference guide to find out what you’re tracking.
          3. Confirm that your connection and data streams are active.
