          Opt-outs

          Opt-outs

If a contact deletes your app or disables notifications for your app on their device, they are opted out of receiving messages that you create in MobilePush.

          How Contacts Opt Out

After downloading your app, contacts also have to enable notifications. If they don’t enable notifications, they don’t receive your push notifications and messages.

If a contact deletes your app or disables notifications for your app on their device, they are opted out.

          How MobilePush Opts Out Contacts

MobilePush updates a device's status to opted out immediately after it receives notification of the opt-out. However, it can take a while for Apple or Google to send the opt-out notification to MobilePush, based on their own criteria for how many sends must fail for a contact to be marked as opted out.

Sends that occur between the time the user opts out and the time that MobilePush receives the opt-out notification do not display for the user but count toward your total messages sent. This is because MobilePush has no way of knowing the date that the user opted out, even after we receive the opt-out notification.
