          Build Application Forms with OmniStudio

          Build Application Forms with OmniStudio

Use OmniStudio with Admissions Connect to create application forms for your applicant portal. Plus, use flows to assign Action Plan Templates to applications.

          Get Familiar with Omnistudio

Before you start using Omnistudio, we recommend that you take some time to learn the basics. Here are some resources to get you started.

          Get Users Started with OmniStudio

There are a few steps to complete before Admissions Connect users can use OmniStudio.

          1. Install the OmniStudio package.

          2. Assign OmniStudio permission sets to users.

          3. If you installed Admissions Connect version 1.16 or earlier, complete these additional steps.

            1. From the Admissions Connect Flow Installer, install the Sample: Action Plan Assignments flow.

            2. Install Admissions Connect in a sandbox, and then use a change set to move the following files into production.

              • AdmissionsConnectApplicationForm.json

              • AdmissionsConnectApplicationImage.png

          Note
Note To test OmniStudio in an existing sandbox, either refresh the sandbox to add OmniStudio licenses to the sandbox, or match production and sandbox licenses without a sandbox refresh.

          Create Applications with OmniStudio

To create applications with OmniStudio, download, activate, and add the sample application form to your applicant community. You can then customize the form to meet your needs.

          Important
Important Confirm with your Salesforce admin that you have access to OmniStudio.

          Import the OmniStudio DataPack

To help you get started building application forms, we provide an OmniStudio DataPack. It includes a sample application form that you can customize.

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Static Resources, and then select Static Resources.

          2. Click AdmissionsConnectApplicationForm.

            Tip
Tip If you don't see the static resource file, install it.
          3. Right-click View File and select Save Link As to download the file to your computer.

          4. From the App Launcher App Launcher icon, search for and select OmniStudio. Make sure that OmniScripts is active in the navigation menu.

          5. Click Import, select the file that you downloaded, and then click Next.

          6. In the list of components to be imported, ignore any errors and leave everything selected. Click Next.

          7. Review the selections and click Next.

            Important
Important We recommend that you don't activate the components until you're familiar with OmniStudio and have reviewed and modified the components. For more details, see Activate DataPack OmniScripts and Integration Procedures in Salesforce Help.
          8. Click Activate Now.

          9. Deselect Admissions Connect Application Form (you activate the form later) and then click Next.

          10. Click Done.

          Activate the OmniScript Application Form

          1. From the App Launcher App Launcher icon, search for and select OmniStudio.

          2. In the Navigation Menu, make sure that OmniScripts is active.

          3. Open the Admissions Connect Application Form. It might take longer to open the first time.

          4. Click Activate Version and then click Done.

          Note
Note Because the sample application form is based on an Application, you can use one of your own test applications to populate the form. In the OmniScript Designer, go to preview mode and enter an Application ID into the Context ID field.

Add the OmniScript to Your Application Portal

Activating the OmniScript creates the Form/Application/English Lightning Web Component. Add this component to your application portal.

          2. Next to ApplicantPortalAccelerator, click Builder.

Assign Action Plans Assignments to OmniStudio Applications Forms

After you create an application form with OmniStudio, use a flow to assign Action Plan Assignments based on the information that applicants enter into the form. We provide a sample flow to get you started. The sample flow associates the following Action Plan Templates to an Application.

For details about these Action Plan Templates, see Quick Start Asset Reference List.

          • Sample: Core Application

          • Sample: Test Scores

          To access the sample flow:

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Flows, and then select Flows.

          2. Look for Sample: Action Plan Assignments. If you don't see the sample flow, install it.

This sample flow demonstrates one approach to implementing automation for Action Plans. We recommend that you don't edit the sample flows directly and that you leave them inactive. Instead, create a flow and look in the Template tab for the sample flow that you want to start from. You can also open a sample flow and click Save As to create a flow. For more information, see Flows in Salesforce Help.
