Get Ready to Install Admissions Connect

Review the data requirements and considerations, and complete the prerequisites before you install Admissions Connect.

          • Review Data Requirements and Considerations
Your institution is responsible for coming up with and implementing a strategy to get applicant and Application data into Salesforce. As part of this process, most institutions use a third-party tool to import data and documents, including application documents (such as PDFs, images, or other attachments), Application records, and Contact records.
          • Operational Requirements
Review the operational requirements for installing Admissions Connect.
          • Consider Your Starting Point
Admissions Connect runs on top of Education Data Architecture (EDA). You must have the latest version of EDA installed, configured, and populated with data before you configure Admissions Connect.
          • Installation Prerequisites
Before you install Admissions Connect, complete the prerequisites for the package that you want to install.

Review Import Your Data into Admissions Connect for detailed considerations.

If you’re already using Salesforce for recruiting and admissions and want to install Admissions Connect, know that Admissions Connect doesn't have any functionality built around Leads or Opportunities. If you’re using Opportunities, consider adding a lookup on the Application object to the Opportunity object. Also review the Lead object reference for detailed considerations on how to configure and use Leads in EDA.

For details about the types of documents supported in the Admissions Connect components, see Considerations for Document Management.

          Operational Requirements

Review the operational requirements for installing Admissions Connect.

To use Admissions Connect, you need an Enterprise, Unlimited, or Developer Edition org with:

          • Lightning Experience enabled

          • Service Cloud Lightning Console enabled

          • Full access to Contact, Account, and other standard objects

          Consider Your Starting Point

Admissions Connect runs on top of Education Data Architecture (EDA). You must have the latest version of EDA installed, configured, and populated with data before you configure Admissions Connect.

          • If your org doesn't already have EDA, it's automatically installed when you install Admissions Connect.

          • If your org already has EDA installed, verify that you have the current version. See Keep Up with Salesforce.org Releases and Find the Release Version in the EDA documentation. Your org is updated to the latest version of EDA when Admissions Connect is installed, but we recommend that you upgrade EDA before installation.

Your installation sequence depends on the starting point for your implementation.

          Starting With Installation Sequence
