          Accounting Subledger Release Notes

Spring ’23 brings a fresh start for Accounting Subledger, as it’s now built on the Salesforce platform, and designed to work with any Salesforce product. The next-generation Accounting Subledger draws the power of Salesforce to consolidate data between Salesforce CRM and your accounting system. This consolidation helps you manage your accounting department and understand how and where funds are received, paid, and allocated, with unparalleled performance.

          • Set Up Accounting Sets
Map your financial data to the Accounting Subledger data model using accounting sets, and configure settings for each set to generate transaction journal records. Specify which objects—standard or custom—and fields store your source data and how to generate transaction journal records from it. Accounting sets support from one to four objects, including the Fund Account object. Each accounting set represents a set of financial data, such as revenue from gifts or expenses from fees.
          • Run Accounting Subledger Jobs
Configure and run Accounting Subledger jobs to generate transaction journal records. Choose which source records to process based on their record date or record type. When the job runs, monitor its execution and identify errors in the Data Manager app or on the Monitor Workflow Services page in Setup. Specify when to run the Accounting Subledger job by using Flow Builder, or run it manually with the Subledger Job flow.
          • Generate Debits and Credits
Configure Accounting Subledger to format transaction journal records for single or double entry accounting, with separate fields for debit amounts and credit amounts.
          • Generate Revenue and Expenses
Choose what type of accounting information—revenue or expense—to generate for tracking incoming and outgoing funds.
          • Assign General Ledger Codes
Include general ledger (GL) codes in debit and credit transaction journal records to identify specific fund accounts.
          • View Transaction Journal Records
After the Accounting Subledger job runs, view the generated financial transactions on the Transaction Journal object in a format optimized for export to your accounting system. Transaction journal records include multiple fields to help you understand the generated data related to your financial transactions. Accounting Subledger creates transaction journal records automatically for new or changed CRM financial records.
          • New and Changed Objects
Here are the new data objects to use instead of the existing data objects in the managed package.
