          Create Account Sharing Rules

          After you create the Secondary School and College record types for the Account object, create a sharing rule that grants portal users Read Only access to the records.

          Editions Needed
          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Education Cloud
          User Permissions Needed  
          To create account sharing rules: Education Cloud Full Access
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sharing Settings, then select Sharing Settings.

          2. Next to Account Sharing Rules, click New.

          3. Enter a label name and rule name.

          4. If required, enter a description.

          5. Select Based on criteria as the rule type.

          6. For Select which records to be shared, add these criteria:

            • For Field, select Account Record Type.

            • For Operator, select Equals.

            • For Value, select Business, College, Secondary School, and Military.

          7. For Select the users to share with, select Public Groups and All Customer Portal Users.

          8. For Select the level of access for the users, select these fields:

            • Default Account and Contract Access: Read Only

            • Opportunity Access: Private

            • Case Access: Private

          9. Save your changes.
