Use Education Cloud objects to review and manage an applicant's information, education history, and qualifications.

Application management uses multiple objects to model an applicant's information. This table explains how the admissions objects work in the application process.

| Academic Term Enrollment | Represents the academic term that the applicant enrolls in. |
| Application Decision | Represents the publicly released decision for an application to an institution. |
| Application Review | Represents a review performed for an application to an institution. |
| Individual Application | Related to the account of the person who submits an application to an institution or a program. Can also be related to the contact who prepares an application on behalf of the applicant. |
| Person Account | Stores information about a person who submits an application to an institution or program. |
| Preliminary Application Reference | Stores applications that are in progress so that applicants can finish an application at a later time. |
When an applicant registers on your learner portal, Education Cloud automatically creates a person account for them. To prevent duplicate records, if you convert person accounts to Experience Cloud users, make sure to include an email address on the existing person account.
Education Cloud provides flow templates to automatically create a case for an applicant and assign the case to the appropriate support staff. You can also automatically close a case when an application is rejected, canceled, or when the applicant enrolls in the institution.

Student Madison Hadzic is a senior at Daisy Bates Academy, and she's applying to Astro University for undergraduate admission in the 2023 fall term. Education Cloud creates these records for Madison's application.
