You can use the Education Portal template to serve a variety of constituents with one Experience Cloud site. To ensure that portal users can only access the features they need, you can use audiences and permission sets to control component visibility. Applicants, students, alumni, and even learners with overlapping roles can use a single login to access virtually everything they need to engage with your institution. For example, a student applying for their next degree and an alum applying for continued learning can manage all their activities in the same portal.
Constituents can use your portal to register for your institution, apply to courses and programs, track and manage applications, raise requests for information, schedule appointments, search the alumni directory, and complete other tasks.
The Education Portal template comes with components designed to support applicants, students, alumni, and various combinations of these roles. You can configure pages and components and control access to them based on your institution's processes and your constituents' needs. These tabs are available in the template by default:
- Home: Contains tabs that show the created applications and requests for information (RFIs) raised by the applicant, as well as task and appointment lists.
- Applications: Lists the applications created by the portal user, with statuses and details. Portal users can also start new applications from here.
- Requests for Information: Lists RFIs raised by the applicant, with statuses and details.
- Appointments: Lists appointments scheduled between the portal user and staff members. Portal users can also schedule appointments from here.
- Success Team: Contains two tabs that show contact information of success team members and other support resources assigned to the portal user. Portal users can search for resources and schedule appointments from here.
- Support Programs: Contains two tabs where portal users can search for support programs and view the details of the programs they're enrolled in.
- Learning Programs: Lists the portal user's learning program plans.
- Alumni Profile: Shows the fields that portal users can populate with personal information to create their own profiles.
- Directory: Contains a searchable list of public profiles.
- Financial Status at a Glance: Shows financial status summary, including total charges, adjustments, balance due, next due date, and payment status.
Assign the Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access permission set to your users to grant them access to the portal.
