When you create a gift commitment record, Fundraising automatically runs the relevant flow to trigger these actions based on the schedule that you defined for the flow.

          • Identifies the next upcoming installment as per the current or next schedule and updates the Next Transaction Date and Next Transaction Amount fields
          • For a recurring commitment, creates a gift transaction for the next upcoming installment in the schedule if the Create Recurring Schedule Transaction setting is selected.
          • Updates the Current Schedule, Effective Period, and Effective Interval fields based on the current schedule

Updates the commitment status based on these conditions:

Condition Commitment Type Updated Commitment Status
The type of the current schedule is Pause Transactions. Recurring Paused

The number of most recent past consecutive unpaid transactions on the commitment matches the value in the Lapsed Unpaid Transaction Count setting.

When Lapsed Unpaid Transaction Count setting is 0, the status doesn't update.

          Recurring, Custom Lapsed

The number of most recent past or current consecutively failed transactions for a commitment matches the value in the Failing Transaction Count setting.

When Failing Transaction Count setting is 0, the status doesn’t update.

          Recurring, Custom Failing
The commitment’s initial schedule begins while the current commitment status is Draft. Recurring, Custom Active
The type of the current schedule is Create Transactions. Recurring Active
The current commitment status is Lapsed, but the number of past consecutive unpaid transactions on the commitment does not match the value in the Lapsed Unpaid Transaction Count setting. Recurring, Custom Active
The current commitment status is Failing, but the number of past or current consecutively failed transactions for a commitment does not match the value in the Failing Transaction Count setting. Recurring, Custom Active
The commitment has no ongoing or future schedules and no unpaid transactions, and the Auto Close Recurring Commitment setting is selected. Recurring Closed
