          Configure RFM Scoring in Nonprofit

          Configure RFM Scoring in Nonprofit

Salesforce Admins can set up RFM scoring in the Fundraising settings. These settings are used by the RFM Score Calculation data processing engine definition to create the scores. You can run this data processing job manually from Settings, but the recommended method is to run the job on a schedule.

          User Permissions Needed
          To configure RFM scoring:

          Fundraising_Admin permission set group

          OR

Modified Education Cloud Full Access permission set

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter RFM, and then select Recency, Frequency, Monetary Value (RFM) Score.
          2. Click Configure Scoring.
          3. Set the number of fields to use as sources for each scoring method and click Next.
          4. Configure the recency score.
            1. Set a destination object and field where the calculated score is stored.
For example, choose Donor Gift Summary as the object and Recency Score as the field to have the RFM Data Processing Job write the recency score to the Donor Gift Summary in the Recency Score field.
            2. Select the objects and fields to use as sources for the recency score.
              Note
Note The source object selected for the recency score, is also used as the source object for the frequency and monetary value score. Use fields that contain aggregated data (like rollups or fields with data that is calculated) as the source fields. Use fields that have the same units of measure for the source fields, because the RFM calculation doesn't perform conversions.
            3. Set what percentage of the total recency score each of the sources provides.
              Note
Note Use only whole numbers for the percent field. This percent indicates the weight that each of the field values have toward the total recency score. For example, if you have two source fields, and one is weighted at 80% and the other is weighted at 20%, the total recency score is calculated as 0.8*A + 0.2*B = total recency score.
            4. To relate the source objects to the destination object, select related fields that are lookups for the destination object.
If the source and destination objects are the same, the related lookup field defaults to ID.
            5. Click Next.
          5. Configure the frequency score.
          6. Configure the monetary value score.
            Note
Note The monetary score can be in any currency, as long as the data used to source the score is consistent.
          7. Set the destination for the composite RFM score and click Next.
For example, select Donor Gift Summary for the destination object and Composite RFM Score for the destination field.
          8. Select the number of ranges to include for each of the score components and click Next.
For example, if you select 3, the scores are calculated in three groups.
          9. Set the ranges for how recently the donor donated during a specified time frame and click Next.
            Note
Note Set the ranges in ascending order where the first range is the best scoring range and the last range is the worst scoring range. Range values can’t overlap or be duplicated. Ranges can be set with integers from zero to infinity.
          10. Set the number of donations for each range of the frequency score and click Next.
            Note
Note Set the ranges in descending order, where the first range has the most donations and the last range has the least. Range values can’t overlap or be duplicated. Ranges can be set with integers from zero to infinity.
          11. Set the amount donors have given for each range of the monetary value score and click Next.
            Note
Note Set the ranges in descending order, where the first range has the largest amount and the last range has the least amount donated. Range values can’t overlap or be duplicated. Ranges can be set with integers from zero to infinity.
          12. Review your settings, and then save your work.
