Give students the object and field permissions they need to use Student Success Hub from the portal.

To help you get your org up and running, Student Success Hub provides a permission set for students as well as two student profiles. If you clone these assets, you’ll have all the base-level permissions documented here.
Configure Student System Permissions
Students need access to some specific System Permissions. (They're called General User Permissions in the original profile user interface.) Configure System Permissions by editing the student profile using the enhanced profile user interface.

From Setup, search for and then select Profiles.

Click the Profile Name for your student profile.

Click System Permissions and then click Edit.

Make sure these fields are selected:

Access Activities

Edit Events
-
Edit Tasks
-
Send Email
-

Save your changes.
Configure Student Object and Field Permissions
Configure student object and field permissions by editing the student profile using the enhanced profile user interface.

From Setup, search for and then select Profiles.

Click the Profile Name that you want to set permissions and security for.

Click Object Settings.

Click the object you want to configure, click Edit, and specify the minimum Object Permissions and Field Permissions shown in the tables.

If you're configuring multiple objects, use the breadcrumb navigation to select the next object from the menu.

Save your changes.
These tables document the minimum object and field access required for core Student Success Hub functionality. Without these permissions in place, your users may experience errors. If an object or field isn't listed—and many standard Salesforce items are not—it means that either:

Student Success Hub doesn't have a dependency on it. Your institution can decide whether it wants to customize that setting, or
-
It's a default, out-of-the-box setting that can't be changed.
We've also noted where access is either required only for a specific feature to work, or is recommended and not required.
