Set up Action Plans— Define the required tasks for a
process such as a volunteer initiative or other activities.
Actions plans can be applied to the Application Form, Position, and Job Position objects.
- To create and review applications, set up Form Framework.
- Add Form Framework components to Lightning Record Pages.

To track stages for certain objects, set up Stage Management.
Stage Management can track stages for these objects.
- Volunteer Initiative — For example, track an initiative’s progress through stages and internal approvals, from upcoming and in progress statuses, to completion.
- Job Position Assignment — For example, track assignments that need approvals or that need hours approved.
- Job Position Shift — For example, track stages to prepare internally for when a shift is upcoming or completed.
- Job Position — For example, track stages to support the job positions, from development to fulfillment, and the internal review processes.
- Position — For example, track stages to support positions, from development to fulfillment, and the internal review processes.
- Application Form — For example, track stages to review and approve applications.
- Add Stage Management components to Lightning Record Pages.
- Set up an approval process for your volunteer initiatives.
- As a prerequisite to creating an Experience Cloud site, Enable Digital Experiences.

Create an Experience Cloud site.
A volunteer portal helps volunteers complete tasks. For example, a portal built on an Experience Cloud site can provide a place for volunteers to register, complete onboarding, attend training or continuing education, view and sign up for volunteer opportunities, upload documentation, and track the hours they’ve volunteered.
