Considerations for Using the Slack Integration

Keep these considerations in mind when setting up and using the Slack integration.

          Required Editions

Available in: All Account Engagement Editions
Available in: Slack (where approved by a workspace admin)
          • To install the Account Engagement app and complete the connector setup requires a Slack workspace admin, a Salesforce admin, and an Account Engagement admin.
          • The Slack connector requires a verified Salesforce Connector.
          • To set up the integration, first enable Slack in Salesforce and assign the Connect Salesforce with Slack permission to your Slack workspace admin.
          • The Slack connector setup is available only in Account Engagement Lightning App. If you’re not using the Lightning app, download the Account Engagement Lightning App Implementation Guide and enable it for your org.
          • You can connect one Slack workspace and add up to 10 Slack channels.
          • The Slack connector supports only public Slack channels.
          • The completion action to notify a Slack channel is available for Account Engagement forms, form handlers, file downloads, custom redirects, and page actions. It’s also available for classic and enhanced emails.
          • Each custom message can have up to 3,000 characters, including the field values automatically populated with Account Engagement data. Messages that are longer than 3,000 characters don’t render in Slack.
