Set Up Service Cloud for Slack User Permissions
Give users the permissions they need to connect their Salesforce account to Slack and to swarm on a record in Slack. You can either assign users the default Slack Service User permission set, or add the required user permissions to your own custom permission set or user profile. Then, give users access to the Swarm and Swarm Members objects.
If you create a custom permission set or use an existing one, make sure that the assigned users have Flow User and Service Cloud User licenses. All Service Cloud for Slack app users need the following app and system permissions at the profile level:
- Connect Salesforce with Slack
- Run Flows
- Slack Service User
- Complete the Swarming user permissions setup. See Set Up Swarming User Permissions.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Slack, and then select Initial Slack Setup.
- Under Salesforce Slack Apps Permissions and User Assignments, find the Service Cloud for Slack Permissions section.
- To assign the out-of-the-box Slack Service User permission set, select Go to Permissions and assign users to it.
-
To use a custom permission set, select Go to Permissions and assign
users to it. Assigned users must have the Flow User and Service Cloud User licenses.
All Service Cloud for Slack app users need the Connect Salesforce with Slack, Run Flows, and Slack Service User app and system permissions. Assign users who will be working in Salesforce channels the Slack Record Channels Org permission.
To let users join a swarm in Slack, make sure the swarm members meet the following conditions.
- The swarm member must be a Salesforce user.
- The swarm member must have connected their Salesforce account to the Service Cloud for Slack app.
- The swarm member must belong to the same workspace as the swarm requester.
