Refine Rebates and Incentives with Benefit Mappings
Use benefit mappings to create benefits for a rebate program that vary by additional
criteria such as product category, partner territory, member enrollment status, and industry
segment. For example, a volume-based rebate type can have benefits in which the rebate amount
varies by product category for the same benefit tier.
Required Editions
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions that have
Rebate Management enabled.
User Permissions Needed
To create custom objects and fields:
System Administrator
To set up Rebate Management:
Rebate Management Admin permission set
To create a benefit mapping, Salesforce recommends that the admin first creates similar custom
fields on the Program Rebate Type Benefit and Rebate Member Product Aggregate objects.
Note If you’re using a custom aggregate object instead of the default Rebate Member Product
Aggregate object, create the custom field on that object.
The rebate program manager then maps the two similar fields in the Program Rebate Type Benefit
Mapping object.
Example
A company wants to differentiate the benefits of a volume-based rebate type by product
category. The admin must create a Product Category custom field on both the Program Rebate Type
Benefit and Rebate Member Product Aggregate objects.

but also for the product category criterion.

While settling payouts, program managers can view the information on product
categories sold by a specific member for a specific payout period.
The program manager can then map the fields in the Rebate Type Benefit Mapping object by
defining these fields.
