Add the Archive Component to Lightning Pages
Add an Archive component to Lightning Experience record pages with one of these recommended procedures.
Create a Custom Tag
- Drag one of the Archive components under Standard Components from the left menu to the newly created custom tab.
-
Complete the Default Child Objects as required.
Important A child object appears in Archive component search only if a policy is configured for it.
- Save your work.
-
Click Activation.
The results appear to your users as defined, with an overview of the total number of archived records shown.
To expand the results, click a component.
For example, if you want Customer Support users to view archived Cases through the Archive Single Objects component, set Case as the default child object. Only users with a Customer Support profile can see the component.
Create a Custom Component
- Go to Setup.
- Select the Object Manager tab.
- Select the object to insert the component on its page, such as Account.
- To access the layout editor, select Lightning Record Pages.
- Select the existing record page or create one.
- Select Edit.
- Select the location to insert the component on the page.
- On the Components toolbar, search and select the Archive Single Object or Archive Multiple Objects component.
- Drag the component to the location.
- Save your work.
- Make sure that the page is activated.
- To return to the object, click Close.
Archive Component Access and Download Control
Standard users can't access archived data through the Archive component and can
encounter a system.security.NoAccessException error.
Optionally, to turn on component access, assign the Archive View Archived Records user permission.
- In Setup, locate Permission Sets.
- Select Archive View Archived Records.
- To assign the user permission to relevant users, click Manage Assignments.
- Click Add Assignments.
