          How Timesheets Work for Technicians

Field technicians can review their timesheets, create new timesheets, copy approved timesheets, or delete timesheets.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: All editions of Field Service Plus for Energy & Utilities, and all editions of Asset Service Lifecycle Management

With automated timestamps for geolocation-based actions, technicians can spend less time while adding the required breakdown details. Using a custom record-triggered flow, administrators and supervisors can automate the creation of timesheets based on the service appointment status transitions.

Technicians can copy timesheets to save time, eliminate repetitive daily tasks, reduce errors, and focus on maintenance work.

Technicians can also maintain the accuracy of time records and reduce administrative overhead by using the delete functionality to quickly correct timesheet errors on their mobile device.

          Timesheets Default Validations

The Timesheets management app automatically validates these conditions.

          • The timesheet must have at least one breakdown of time or timesheet entry.
          • The timesheet entry start and end times can't be null.
          • The first timesheet entry’s start time should match the timesheet’s start time. The last timesheet entry’s end time should match the timesheet’s end time.
          • Timesheet entries can't overlap.
