          Benefit Actions

          Benefit Actions

Benefit Actions are actions that can be triggered for a benefit. Benefit Actions are executed when a benefit is assigned to a member. For example, when a member is upgraded from Silver to Gold tier, the member gets priority support as an entitlement. This benefit requires a downstream action to create a priority service entitlement record in the Service Cloud. The record is created in the Service Cloud through benefit actions. The benefit action is executed to create the Priority Support Entitlement record when the Priority Support benefit is assigned to the member.

          Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in EnterprisePerformance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
Available in: Orgs that have the B2C - Loyalty, B2C - Loyalty Plus, B2B - Loyalty, Loyalty Management - Growth, or Loyalty Management - Advanced license enabled

Examples of Benefit Actions that can be created are:

          • Service Entitlements to define service SLAs
          • Partner Fund Allocations (market development funds) for defining fund allocations for lead generation and nurturing
          • Voucher issuance

Benefit Actions can be invoked in the following ways:

          • When a new benefit is assigned to a member:

The Benefit Action is always invoked when a new benefit is assigned. For example, when a member changes from Silver to Gold tier and is eligible for Priority Support.

          • When the benefit is updated:

The Benefit Action execution is optional when a new benefit is updated. The execution is based on the Benefit Action definition. For example, when a member retains Gold tier and the period for the Priority Support must be extended.

          • When the benefit no longer applies:

The Benefit Action execution is optional and based on the Benefit Action definition. For example, when a member moves from Gold to Silver tier and the Priority Support benefit no longer applies.

          Note
Note The same Benefit Action is triggered for all the preceding scenarios based on the Benefit Action configuration. Depending on the status of the Member Benefit, the appropriate behavior is defined.
