Price Protection Claim Calculation using Business Rules Engine

Create a scalable process to calculate Price Protection claim amount per line item using Business Rules Engine. Business Rules Engine is a suite of features that helps you automate complex decision-making.

Price Protection has a preconfigured expression set template called Calculate Price Protection Claim. This expression set template is a read-only file that contains rules to process Price Protection claims. You can save and use the preconfigured expression set template as is, or customize it to suit your process requirements. You can invoke expression sets from Flow and OmniStudio. Also, you can use Decision Explainer with Business Rules Engine to show your users explanations for the results of steps in an expression set.

Here are the high-level steps in the expression template:

• Reset Calculated Amount: Resets the calculated claim amount before processing further rules.
• Eligibility & Processing Status Check: Determines whether the claim meets eligibility criteria and assigns the appropriate processing status and message.
• Remaining Quantity Validation: Ensures that the claim has an available quantity for processing and updates the status and message accordingly.
• Sale Price per Unit Validation: Checks if the sale price per unit meets predefined conditions and updates the processing status and message.
• New Sale Price per Unit Check: Validates the revised sale price per unit and assigns the appropriate processing status and message.
• Claim Processing Status Check: Verifies if the claim is eligible for further processing and calculates the claim amount if valid.
• Claim Type Validation: Identifies, classifies, and assigns the appropriate type to the claim.
• Claim Generation Eligibility Check: Determines whether the claim satisfies the criteria to be generated and executes necessary calculations.
• Claim Attribute Assignment: Assigns product, account, location, pricing details, remaining quantity, price change effective date, and usage type to the claim.
