          Create a Loyalty Tier Group

          Create a Loyalty Tier Group

Create a loyalty tier group for the hierarchical grouping of the tiers in your loyalty program.

          Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in EnterprisePerformance, Developer, and Unlimited Editions that have Loyalty Management enabled.
          1. In the Loyalty Programs tab, open your program name.
          2. On the Setup tab, under Loyalty Tier Groups, click New.
          3. Enter a name and description for the tier group.

Make sure the tier group name contains only alphanumeric characters and no special characters.

          4. Select Active.
          5. Select a tier model:
Fixed To expire qualifying points on a specific date.
Anniversary To expire qualifying points on the member’s enrollment anniversary date.
          6. Enter a period quantity and a period duration type for the tier period.
          7. Select an option:
No Extension Select this option if you don’t want to extend the expiration date.
Till End of Month Select this option if you want to expire qualifying points at the end of month during which member’s points are supposed to expire.
Qualifying Points Reset Date Select this option if you want to extend the expiration date of the fixed tier model until the qualifying points reset date. This option aligns the tier expiration with the fixed qualifying period. For example, if a member’s Gold tier is set for expiry on February 10, 2021 and the qualifying points reset on December 31 every year. If Extend Expiration is enabled until the qualifying points reset date, the tier downgrade process also runs on the same date as the qualifying points reset date, that is, December 31, 2020.
Member Enrollment Anniversary Select this option to extend the expiration date of the anniversary tier model until the member enrollment anniversary date. This option aligns the qualifying period and the tier expiration with the member's enrollment anniversary. For example, if a member’s anniversary falls on June 12, 2020, the member is in the Gold tier and slated to expire on July 16, 2021. If Extend Expiration is enabled until the member anniversary, the qualifying points reset on June 12, 2021 and again on June 12, 2022, when the member is evaluated for downgrade from Gold tier. In this example, the anniversary date falls after the actual tier expiry date.
          8. If you want to mark this tier group as the primary tier group, select Primary.
If a program has multiple tiers, members can see their tier from the primary tier group.
          9. If you don’t want to show this tier group to members, select Hidden To Members.
          10. Enter the date and the frequency at which members’ qualifying point balance is automatically reset to zero.
            Fixed Model

Members’ qualifying points are reset of a specific date after a period that you specify.

In the Qualifying Points Reset Date field, specify the date on which the qualifying point balance is reset for members. In the Qualifying Points Reset Frequency field and the Qualifying Points Reset Period, decide the number of years after which points are reset. For example, if the reset date is December 31, 2023, the reset frequency is 2, and the reset period is Years, then members’ points are reset on December 31, 2023 and then on December 31, 2025.

            Anniversary Model

Members’ qualifying points are reset on the member’s membership enrollment date after a period that you specify.

In the Qualifying Points Reset Frequency field and the Qualifying Points Reset Period, decide the number of years after which points are reset. For example, if the member’s enrollment anniversary is April 2, the reset frequency is 2, and the reset period is Years, then members’ points are reset on April 2, 2023 and then on April 2, 2025.

          11. Save your changes.
          Note
Note If you add a tier group after members are assigned a tier, manually create the associated Loyalty Member Tier records.
