          Enable Automatic Calculation of Points Expiration Date for Canceled Redemptions

          Enable a setting that automatically calculates the expiration date of fixed-type non-qualifying points that are credited back to members for canceled redemptions.

          To calculate the expiration date of points credited to members for canceled redemptions:
          • System Adminstrator
          • Loyalty Management

          Before enabling the setting, ensure that you’ve enabled the Consolidate Member Points for Expiration setting and run the Aggregate Fixed Non-Qualifying Points in Expiration Ledgers Data Processing Engine definition. This ensures that the expiration date of points that have been already credited to members are consolidated based on the member, expiration date, and the non-qualifying currency.

          Expiration dates are automatically calculated for points that are credited back by Redemption Reversal-type transaction journals that are created when Redemption type transactions are canceled. Here's how the points expiration date is automatically calculated for fixed-type non-qualifying points that are credited back to members for canceled redemptions:

          3 Points are debited from members for Redemption-type transactions

          Expiration dates of the points are stored in the Redeemed Points Expiration Information field of the Redemption type transaction journal.

          This date is populated from the corresponding Loyalty Aggregated Point Expiration Ledger record. If the member's points of the same currency expires on multiple dates, the points that are set to expire first are debited.

          4 Points are credited back to members for Redemption Reversal-type transactions Expiration dates of the points that are credited back to the member are automatically populated by using the information that's available in the Redeemed Points Expiration Information field of the related Redemption-type transaction.

          If points that are credited back either have multiple expiration dates or belong to multiple currencies, Credit-type Loyalty Ledger records are created for each unique expiration date and currency combination. For example, if the member is credited back points of the same currency but the points have two different expiration dates, two ledgers are created: one for each expiration date.

          Important
          Important If you use APIs to cancel redemptions and select expiration date of the points that are credited back to members, then system ignores the automatically calculated expiration date.
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Loyalty Management, and then select Loyalty Management Settings.
          2. Turn on Add Expiration Date for Points Credited by Canceled Redemptions .
