          Promotion Design Features

          Run promotions that offer rewards based on what customers purchase or how much customers spend

          Use pricing promotion templates that represent the customer activity that you want to reward and then configure the promotion rules exactly as per your business needs. Configure the exact activity that you want to reward members for and the rewards that you want to offer.

          Pricing promotion templates are available on the Select Promotion Template step in the Quick Promotion guided flow.

          Run promotions that offer rewards without any pricing eligibility criteria Select the No qualification criteria checkbox or the No spend range checkbox in a pricing promotion rule to indicate that the rule doesn't contain any eligibility criteria.
          Offer customers discounts on their carts and not just loyalty rewards

          Use a pricing promotion template that meets your business needs. Offer customers a discount on cart value, on cart items, and on the unit price of cart items. You can also offer free products or a discounted combo as a promotion reward.

          Pricing promotion templates are available on the Select Promotion Template step in the Quick Promotion guided flow.

          Offer customers discounts and rewards based on criteria unique to your company's promotions

          Use the Build Your Own Promotion template and add custom criteria that determine when a customer is eligible for a promotion.

          Run promotions that offer rewards for a specific activity of the loyalty member

          Use the Accrual Events promotion template and select the type of accrual activity that you want to reward members for.

          The Accrual Events promotion template is available on the Select Promotion Template step in the Quick Promotion guided flow.

          Add eligibility criteria to decide when a promotion is eligible for customers

          Use the Define Promotion Eligibility step in the Quick Promotion guided flow to choose:

          • Eligible products or product categories
          • Eligible sales channels
          • Eligible target audience
          • Eligible customer events

          You can also decide whether customers must enroll for the promotion.

          Allow customers to select the promotion that they want to apply for their cart.

          Use the Define Promotion Eligibility step in the Quick Promotion guided flow to add coupons for promotions.

          Customers use coupon codes to specify which promotion they want to apply to their cart.

          Exclude products or product categories from a promotion rule. On the Configure Promotion Template step in the Quick Promotion guided flow, select the products or product categories you want to exclude from the promotion rule.
          Keep the promotion within the approved promotion budget Use the Add Promotion Limits step in the Quick Promotion guided flow to define the promotion’s limits. Set a limit on the number of points or vouchers that loyalty members get from the promotion, the maximum liability of the promotion, and the maximum number of times each customer is eligible to use the promotion.
          Make sure that fraudulent customers don’t misuse the promotion Use the Add Promotion Limits step in the Quick Promotion guided flow to decide the promotion’s individual customer limits. Set a limit on the number of points or vouchers customers get by availing the promotion, and the number of carts or care line items that the promotion applies to.
          Send a promotion launch email to eligible customers

          Connect Global Promotions Management with the Marketing Cloud business unit that the promotion belongs to. Use the Design Distribution Assets step in the Quick Promotion guided flow to design the launch email for pricing promotions.

          After you activate a pricing promotion, a journey is created in the connected Marketing Cloud business unit. The journey automatically sends the launch email to all eligible customers.

          Design a promotion for customers who don’t belong to the company’s loyalty program From the home page of the Promotion Console app, launch the Quick Promotion guided flow.

          Promotion Evaluation Features

          Evaluate promotions to decide which promotions to apply to customer carts.

          Use Configure Evaluation and Execution Method on the home page of the Promotion Console. Select the parent group whose promotions you want to evaluate. Then, decide on the evaluation method from these options.

          Define pricing rules for varied pricing scenarios Create a pricing procedure and associate it with a parent group.

          Promotion Distribution Features

          Show customers personalized promotion recommendations Integrate the Promotion Recommendations API with a Salesforce capability or an external system that manages customer carts and details. Then, use the API to get a list of promotions recommended for customer carts based on products and display it on external sites.

          Promotion Planning and Performance Tracking Features

          Business Requirements Features to Use
          Check the promotions that are currently in progress or planned, and cover any whitespaces Use the Promotion Calendar to view the past, current, and planned promotions. You can also view your company’s events, and plan promotions for the company events.
          Track the performance of past and active promotions Use the Global Promotions Management analytics app template to create an analytics app to track the performance of your promotions across various parameters. You can also track promotion performance on the home page of the Promotion Console app.

          Promotion Execution Features

          Show customers the promotions that they can use for their cart Integrate the Eligible Promotions Connect API with the Salesforce capability or the external system that manages customer carts. Then, run the API to get a list of the promotions that customer carts are eligible for.
          Apply the promotions that customers select for their cart after they place their order Integrate the Transaction Journal Execution Connect API with the Salesforce capability or the external system that manages customer orders. Then, run the API to apply the rewards of the customer’s selected promotion.
          Apply evaluated promotions to customer carts Integrate the Promotion Evaluation and Execution API with a Salesforce capability or the external system that manages customer orders. Then, run the API to determine which promotions to apply to the customer cart based on the selected evaluation method.
          Run promotions on external systems that aren't connected to Salesforce or are offline Run the View Promotion Configuration API to export the configuration of active promotions to external systems.
