          How Currency Subtypes Are Credited

          How Currency Subtypes Are Credited

Use the Credit Points action in a loyalty program process or flow to credit members with points for currency subtypes. Select the currency subtype associated with a traceable non-qualifying currency. When an accrual transaction journal is processed, the Credit Points action credits the member’s points balance. Track the details of the currency subtype and points credited in the related loyalty ledger.

          Note
Note If the currency is Resource in the Credit Points action of a loyalty program process, the currency subtype also defaults to Resource. To select a fixed-value currency subtype, first select Fixed Value in the Currency Name field and then select the currency.
          Example
          Example

Mary sets up an accrual process in Promotion Setup. The process has three rules.

          • The first rule credits Reward Points for purchases equal to the transaction amount.
          • The second rule is associated with a promotion. Members who buy a promoted shoe, Super Kicks, get an additional 500 Bonus Points.
          • The third rule is associated with a partner promotion. Cloud Kicks has partnered with GetFit Wellness Center, a popular fitness chain. Customers who sign up for a gym membership receive 2000 Partner Points.

Adria Darby, a program member, is looking for gym shoes. After noticing the promotion for Super Kicks, they decide to purchase a pair for US$100. They also come across the partner promotion and sign up for the gym membership. The program creates two transaction journals, one for the purchase of Super Kicks and the other for the gym membership. Here’s how Adria’s points balance currently looks.

          Member Points 21000

After the two transaction journals are processed, Adria receives 2600 points:

          • 100 Reward Points for the shoe purchase
          • 500 Bonus Points for purchasing a promoted product
          • 2000 Partner Points for the gym membership sign-up

When the program processes the transaction journal, it also updates the member’s points balance.
