          Create Loyalty Program Badges

          Create Loyalty Program Badge records to define badges to assign to members based on your company’s requirements. For example, you can create badges for each of the tiers in your loyalty program or to recognize the top contributors on the program’s community.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Loyalty Management - Growth or Loyalty Management - Advanced

          Before you create a Loyalty Program Badge record, here’s how some of the key fields in a Loyalty Program Badge record work:

          Field Description
          Validity Type

          Specify whether the badge must be valid for the assigned members for a period or until a particular date.

          • Fixed Date: The badge is assigned to members until the date you specify in the Validity End Date field.
          • Period: The badge is assigned to members from the assignment date until the duration specified in the Validity Duration and Validity Duration Unit fields.
          Start Date The date from when the badge can be assigned to members.
          Validity End Date For Fixed Date type badges, specify the date until when the badge can be assigned to members.
          Validity Duration For Period type badges, specify the number of days or months until when the badge can be assigned to members.
          Validity Duration Unit For Period type badges, specify whether the number provided in the Validity Duration field represents days or months.

          Upload an image that represents the badge. Ensure that the image is less than 5 MB. The supported formats are JPG, PNG, and BMP.

          After you save the record, the image is saved as a file in your instance.

          Status Specify the status of the badge. Only active badges can be assigned to members using the Assign Badge to Members action in loyalty program process rules.
          Tip
          Tip When assigning badges, you can overwrite the member badge’s validity end date that’s calculated based on either the validity end date or the validity duration and unit.
          1. On the Loyalty Program tab of the Loyalty Management app, select the program for which you want to create a badge.
          2. Click Loyalty Experiences.
          3. On the Loyalty Program badges related list, click New.
          4. Define your badge.
          5. Save your changes.

          Example

          A loyalty program manager wants to create a badge to assign to the top collaborator on the program’s community page until the end of the year. Here’s how the Loyalty Program badge record is defined for the badge:

          • Name: Top Contributor
          • Validity Type: Fixed Date
          • Start Date: January 1, 2022
          • Validity End Date: December 31, 2022
          • Image: Loyaty Management logo
          • Status: Active

          After you activate your badges, use these actions in loyalty program process rules:

          • Assign Badge to Member: To assign badges to members.
          • Check Member Badge Assignment: To check whether a member is assigned a particular badge.
