Install IDX Workbench (Alpha) (Managed Package)

For the managed package runtime, to deploy changes to Omnistudio components, download and install the IDX Workbench application.

IDX Workbench is available for Mac and Linux. It isn’t available for Windows. The application works with the Omnistudio standard data model or with the custom data model used with Omnistudio for Managed Packages.

          Note
          Note

We recommend the Omnistudio Build Tool for deploying Omnistudio components between orgs. It ensures that the deployment includes dependencies, it validates deployment success, and you can use it with automated deployment, such as scripts or Jenkins.

          1. On the IDX Workbench Alpha page, download the app version for your operating system.
          2. Install and open the application following the prompts in your operating system.
            1. If you use the Mac application your Mac shows a message that IDX Workbench can’t be opened because macOS can’t check it for malware, open System Settings | Privacy & Security. Under Security, find IDX Workbench and click Open Anyway. Follow the prompts to open the app.
            2. If IDX Workbench still doesn’t open on your Mac, open Terminal and navigate to the /Applications directory. Run the command xattr -d com.apple.quarantine IDX\ Workbench.app/. Then open IDX Workbench.

What’s next: After installing IDX Workbench, configure it. See IDX Workbench Configuration for Deployment (Managed Package).
