About the Omnistudio Migration Assistant
The Omnistudio Migration Assistant is a Salesforce CLI plugin that helps automate the migration of Omnistudio components such as Flexcards, Omniscripts, Data Mappers, and Integration Procedures from the Vlocity Industries managed package or Omnistudio Foundation package runtime to the Omnistudio standard runtime. This process also helps you migrate custom labels, Omni Global Auto Numbers, and related objects such as Apex classes, FlexiPages, Experience Cloud site pages, Lightning web components (LWCs), and custom labels.
The Omnistudio Migration Assistant CLI supports two primary modes of operation:
- Assess mode:
- Runs an analysis of all Omnistudio components in your org without modifying them.
- Generates an assessment report based on the analysis.
- Provides information about how migration impacts your Omnistudio components if you migrate them to the standard runtime, helping you assess the outcome in advance. The report provides information about the components that are ready for migration, require manual intervention, failed, and components with warnings.
Important Always run the Omnistudio Migration Assistant in Assess mode before running the Migrate mode. This helps you understand the impact of the migration and avoid incomplete or incorrect migrations. Review the assessment report for any failed statuses and resolve them before proceeding with migration.Important If your org is already on the standard data model with the Omnistudio Metadata API setting enabled, the Omnistudio Migration Assistant does not assess and generate assessment reports for the Omnistudio components such as Data Mappers, Omniscripts, Integration Procedures, and Flexcards. In this scenario, the Omnistudio Migration Assistant assesses only the related objects such Apex, class, LWCs, FlexiPages, and Custom Labels to resolve namespace and reference dependencies. - Migrate mode:
- Performs the actual migration.
- Automatically migrates the components from the managed package runtime or Omnistudio Foundation package runtime to the Omnistudio standard runtime.
- Generates a migration report with information about the components that are migrated, skipped, and failed.
