Use the Portability API to Execute a Data Subject Access Request

Use the Portability API to Execute a Data Subject Access Request

Instead of using Privacy Center to run a portability policy, you can collect PII for a data subject access request with the Portability API.

          Required Editions

Available in: Developer, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with the Privacy Center license.

The Portability API returns a link that you use to download a secure file. Parse or combine the downloaded data with other information that you want to include, then deliver the data to your customer to complete their request.

To make the API call, you need the data subject’s record ID and the relevant portability policy name. Choose an activated policy that includes the object that matches the record ID included in the data subject access request. For example, if the user record ID included in a request is the Contact ID, choose a policy that includes the Contact object.

For detailed instructions, see Salesforce Developers: Portability.
