Install and Deploy the Service Cloud Data Kit
The Service data kit includes the Service data bundle and provides the necessary data streams and data mappings for Proactive Asset Service.
Populate Custom Fields
The Asset Health Score calculation requires these Data Model Objects (DMO) fields to be populated:
- Asset
- Asset ID (text)
- Product (text)
- Install Date Time (datetime)
- Total Usage (number)
- Total Usage Unit of Measure (text)
- WorkOrder
- Asset (text)
- End Date Time (datetime)
- Is Generated From Maintenance Plan (text)
- Product
- Product ID (text)
- Expected Lifespan (number)
- Expected Lifespan Unit of Measure (text)
- Expected Lifetime Usage (number)
- Expected Lifetime Usage Unit of Measure (text)
In Setup, populate those DMO fields. Some fields are populated using the Salesforce CRM Connector. Populate the fields using Ingestion API or create the corresponding custom fields.
To create the fields, go to Object Manager, and then Fields and Relationships in the CRM Asset and Product objects:
- Asset
- Field Name = TotalUsage, Data Type = number
- Field Name = TotalUsageUOM, Data Type = text
- Product
- Field Name = ExpectedLifespan, Data Type = number
- Field Name = ExpectedLifespanUOM, Data Type = text
- Field Name = ExpectedLifetimeUsage, Data Type = number
- Field Name = ExpectedLifetimeUsageUOM, Data Type = text
Install the Service Data Kit
- Click the Setup gear icon and then select Data Cloud Setup.
- Under Configuration, select Salesforce CRM.
- Find the Service Cloud bundle, and click the menu button on the right. Select Install.
- In the Package Install flow, follow the standard process for installing a package.
- To upgrade the Service data kit, navigate to the Service Cloud bundle, click the menu button on the right, and select Upgrade.
To view the data kit details, go to Data Cloud Setup. Under Tools, select Data Kits and then click ServiceDK.
Set Up Service Data in Data Cloud
The Data Cloud Salesforce Connector permission requires Read and View access to the objects and fields in the Field Service Related and Field Service Core bundle to create the data streams successfully. Refer to Enable Object and Field Permissions to Access Salesforce CRM in Data Cloud for details on how to grant access. A bundle is displayed to create a data stream if at least the hero entity has the Read and View permission. The hero entities for the Field Service Core and the Field Service Related bundles are Asset and Product, respectively.
To set up Service data in Data Cloud:
- From the App Launcher, find and open Data Cloud.
- In Data Cloud, go to the Data Streams tab and click New.
- Select the Salesforce CRM connected data source and click Next.
-
Select your connected Salesforce org.
If you have only one Salesforce org connected to Data Cloud, it’s selected by default.
- Select Data Bundles, then select the Service data bundle, and click Next.
-
Select the default data space and click Next.
The installed objects and fields are displayed. Don’t remove the data objects, fields, or mappings because Proactive Asset Service relies on the standard installation to populate the dashboards correctly.
To deploy the Field Service Related or the Field Service Core bundles, check the Asset TotalUsage* and Product ExpectedLife* fields previously populated. If the data stream was created without the custom fields, click the data stream, click Add Source Fields, check the fields, and save and close.
-
Click Deploy
The Data Streams tab displays the progress. When the data streams show an Active status, you’re ready to continue. Repeat steps 1 through 7 for the Field Service Related and Field Service Core data bundles.
Map the Custom Fields
Manually map the custom fields to the corresponding DMO fields. Go to Data Cloud and then Data Stream. Click each data stream listed. Click Review under Data Mapping, map the fields listed, and save and close the mapping.
Create the Calculated Insights
- In Data Cloud, go to the Calculated Insights tab and click New.
- Select the default Data Space, select Create from a Data Kit, click Next.
- Publish the Calculated Insights in this order keeping the names (don’t change the CI
name).
- NumberOfRepairsInLast180Days
- AssetAgeKPI, TotalUsageKPI, RecentRepairsKPI
- AssetHealthScore, AssetHealthScore_CRM
For additional information, see Data Kits.
