          Point Expiration Calculation

          Point Expiration Calculation

The point expiration calculation job quantifies and expires non-qualifying points for members based on the expiration date on the ledger or the member’s last activity date.

          Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in EnterprisePerformance, Developer, and Unlimited Editions that have Loyalty Management enabled.

Non-qualifying points in a loyalty program expire according to the expiry model defined in the Loyalty Program Currency:

          • Fixed Duration: In this model, every time points are earned, transactions are updated with an expiry date based on an expiry duration that is defined for the point type.
          • Activity Based: In this model, points don’t expire as long as the member remains active in the program with regular accruals, redemptions, or both. If the member becomes inactive for a time, then all the member’s points expire. The Last Activity Date field in the Loyalty Program member is used to calculate the duration of inactivity.

The out-of-the-box jobs for the point expiration calculation are:

          • Expire Fixed Non-Qualifying Points
          • Expire Activity Based Non-Qualifying Points
