          Verify Member’s Data Cloud Segment

          Rules related to promotions in loyalty program processes can filter member transactions based on whether the member belongs to the promotion’s Data Cloud segment. The Promotion Eligibility component on Loyalty Program Member, Contact, and Account records can categorize promotions based on whether the member belongs to the promotion’s Data Cloud segment. You can segment based on the loyalty program members or contacts in your org in Data Cloud. Admins can decide how loyalty program process rules and the Promotion Eligibility component verify a member’s Data Cloud segment before processing transactions and categorizing promotions.

          Note When identifying the segments a member belongs to, only those segments are considered where the last publish status for activation is "Success" and the last publish date is closest to the segment's last processed date. Rules and the Promotion Eligibility component can't verify whether members belong to a promotion's associated segment when the segment is being refreshed.
          • Ways to Verify a Member's Segments
            Based on your company's requirements, choose how loyalty process rules and the Promotion Eligibility component verify a member's Data Cloud segments.
          • Enable Verification of Member Segments
            After you complete the prerequisites to verify members segments, turn on the setting that automatically verifies members' segments for loyalty process rules and the Promotion Eligibility component.
