          Relate External Objects Using External IDs

          Use external IDs to associate records in Salesforce with their corresponding records in Heroku Postgres.

          Required Editions

          Available in: all editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To create a Custom Field or Custom Relationship: ModifyAllData and PrivacyCenter
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter External, then select External Objects in the dropdown.
          2. Click the name of the object you want to create a custom field on, then under Custom Fields & Relationships, click New.
          3. Choose the field with the identifier you want to map, change the field type to Indirect Lookup, and click Next.
          4. Determine edit access to this field for each profile, and click Next.
          5. Select the page layouts that you want to include this field, and click Next.
          6. Specify the Related List Label, and add it to a page layout.
          7. Save your work.
