Edit or Delete a Custom Report Type
You can update or delete a custom report type. When you delete a custom report type, you can’t restore it.

- In Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Reports and Dashboards Settings, and select Report Types.

To edit a custom report type.
- In the legacy builder, click Edit next to the custom report type name.
- In the enhanced builder, click
next
to the custom report type name and select
Edit.
You can edit a report type’s description, availability, and layout. Although you can change the object relationships, this change impacts existing reports created with the custom report type. -
To permanently delete a custom report type.
- In the legacy builder, click Del next to the custom report type name.
- In the enhanced builder, click
next
to the custom report type name and select
Delete.
When you delete a custom report type, all reports based on it are also deleted. Dashboard components created from a report based on the deleted custom report type display an error message when viewed.
