If you forgot your password, you can easily reset it using the forgot password link on
the login page. You need your username and access to your email address. You also need your MFA
method to verify your identity. In some cases, you're asked to answer your security question
instead of using MFA.
Required Editions
Available in: both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
On the login page, click the forgot password link.
Enter your username and click Continue.
Salesforce sends an email to the email address that's configured in your
Salesforce personal settings. The email contains instructions to reset your password.
Tip If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. If you still can't find
it, click Resend the email, and then repeat Step
2.
Click the link that's provided in the email. The link expires within 24 hours of when
you requested password reset.
Salesforce prompts you to verify your identity. If you use multi-factor authentication
(MFA), Salesforce prompts you to complete an MFA challenge. If you don't use MFA,
Salesforce asks you to answer a security question.
After you verify your identity, enter your new password.
If you're having trouble resetting your password, contact your Salesforce admin. If
that doesn't work, contact Salesforce Customer Support.
