Register Salesforce Authenticator as an Identity Verification Method for Salesforce Orgs

Register Salesforce Authenticator as an Identity Verification Method for Salesforce Orgs

Connect your Salesforce account to the Salesforce Authenticator app so that you can easily log in with multi-factor authentication (MFA). Then, every time you log in to Salesforce, the app sends a notification to your mobile device to verify it’s you. The process for connecting your account depends on whether you’re logged in to Salesforce when MFA is enabled.

          Required Editions

Salesforce Authenticator setup available in: both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
Multi-factor authentication with Salesforce Authenticator is available in: Essentials, Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Contact Manager Editions

Watch the video to see how to use Salesforce Authenticator for MFA logins.

          Note
Note During periods of extremely high traffic, you can be temporarily unable to register Salesforce Authenticator. If the connection fails because of a service issue, try again later or register a different verification method.

Use these steps for accounts in the Salesforce ecosystem.

Note We use the term Salesforce ecosystem accounts to refer to accounts that support all Salesforce Authenticator features. This list doesn't include all Salesforce-related accounts. For example, this list doesn't include Slack even though it's a Salesforce company.
