Add and Remove Local Salesforce Objects and Fields from Data Sync

Update data sync to keep up with your changing business by adding local Salesforce objects, removing objects, and managing which fields are synced. Synced data is stored in Salesforce Data Pipelines as objects that you can use in recipes.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available with Salesforce Data Pipelines, which is available for an extra cost in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions
          Note
Note For help with managing data sync for remote objects, see Add and Remove Remote Objects and Fields from Data Sync.

          1. From Data Manager, click the Connections tab. All objects configured to sync are listed under their connection name. The default local connection is SFDC_LOCAL.
          2. To add an object and its fields:
            1. Next to a local connection, click Actions button and select Edit Objects.
            2. Find the object to add by scrolling or use the search bar, and select it.
            3. Select the fields that you want to sync.
              Note
Note When importing amount fields containing currencies, if the source currency is different, the imported values are converted to the destination org's default currency (Integration User currency). If the source amount is in the destination org's default currency, no conversion is made.
            4. Optionally, edit the field’s attributes or filter the data synced to Salesforce Data Pipelines from Data Sync Filter.
            5. Click Save.
          3. To add or remove a field from data sync for an object already configured for sync:
            1. From the Connections tab, select the connection associated with the object. Use the search bar to find the connection and object if you have many connections. The connection's associated objects are listed.
            2. Click the name of the object to see its columns. Fields already included for sync are selected.
            3. To add a field, select the checkbox next to the field. To remove a field, deselect the checkbox next to the field.
              Note
Note If you delete any sync-enabled field or make any sync-enabled field inaccessible to the Analytics Integration User profile, an object's data sync fails. Undelete the field, restore access for the Analytics Integration User profile, or deselect the field from data sync to ensure that sync runs successfully.
            4. Click Save.
          4. To remove, or disconnect, an object from data sync:
            1. From the Connections tab, select the connection associated with the object. Use the search bar to find the connection and object if you have many connections. The connection's associated objects are listed.
            2. Click the menu Actions button to the right of the object that you want to remove.
            3. Click Disconnect Object.
            4. Click Disconnect.

If the locally synced object is used in one or more recipes, the disconnect fails. If possible, remove the object from any recipes and try again. For a complex recipe, you can download the recipe JSON, delete it, and then create a new recipe and upload the recipe JSON. Now, the disconnected object shows up as an error, but you can switch the input to direct data or a different synced object. Keep in mind that using direct data impacts recipe limits and performance.

          Note
Note The most recently saved local Salesforce object field attributes are applied to the database. Field attributes can be modified in Data Manager or using a dataflow’s SFDCdigest node. If you use dataflows, check both places before saving to avoid overwriting the field metadata.
