To create a Price Protection program, define pricing terms and benefits, process price
protection claims, and enable Price Protection in Setup. When Price Protection is enabled, you can
use predefined templates for the data processing engine, context definition, and Business Rules
Engine expression sets.

Assign necessary permission sets to admins and users.
Enable and configure Data Pipelines for data processing.
Assign necessary permissions to data intergration users for DPE processing.
Configure Data Processing Engine (DPE), Business Rules Engine (BRE), and Context
Service.
Enable Price Protection Turn on Price Protection in Setup to create price protection programs, define pricing terms and benefits, and process Price Protection claims.
Assign Permissions Sets Give your admins access to Price Protection by assigning a permission set license and permission sets to them. With this license, users can access Price Protection features and objects such as Price Protection Execution Line items, Product Detected Price Changes, and Rebate Claims.
Enable Data Pipelines To create and run Data Processing Engine definitions, enable Data Pipelines. With Data Pipelines, you can query and compute the data available in your Salesforce org.
Set up Business Rules Engine Configure your users to use Business Rules Engine and assign permission sets so that the users can access expression sets and lookup tables.
Enable Context Service Simplify the sharing and consumption of business application data by using Context Service. Context Service is a general module that connects applications and procedures. It makes it easy to find and use data across different industry clouds at every step of the process.
Transit Time in Price Protection Transit Time tracks expected movement durations for partner inventory between locations. Price Protection calculations include in-transit inventory to ensure accurate claims and maintain financial traceability.
Manage Data Processing Engine Definitions for Price Protection Clone and use the data processing engine definitions for Price Protection as-is, extend them to meet your business needs, or create definitions from scratch. To use a definition, you must activate it.
Price Protection Warnings Price protection warnings automatically flag potential issues with claims by checking ledger statuses, transaction dates, reconciliation (PIIR) status, and pending ship and debit claims. These warnings require no setup. To clear a warning, resolve the underlying issue, and rerun the DPE. The updated status appears on a page refresh.
