          Setup with Agentforce (Beta)

          Setup with Agentforce (Beta)

Salesforce's new agent-driven Setup experience streamlines administrative tasks with the help of an AI assistant. Powered by the Atlas Reasoning Engine, its conversational interface allows you to ask questions or give commands using natural language. Activities such as creating objects, Lightning pages, and flows; managing users and user access; and troubleshooting formulas are more efficient and intuitive, with reduced navigation and fewer clicks.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Foundations or Agentforce 1 Editions
          Note
Note Setup with Agentforce is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement, if executed by Customer, and the Non-GA Credit Consumption term in the Product Terms Directory. Enabling this pilot or beta service consumes Data 360 credits and is at the Customer's sole discretion.

The Setup agent is available from every page in Setup. You can chat with the agent in the Agentforce panel while still viewing and navigating through Setup. And when necessary, the conversation can transition into a full-sized agentic experience that opens new conversations in different console tabs and includes a canvas to display rich content such as record details, list views, and metadata previews.

Setup with Agentforce also enhances the Setup Home page released in Winter ’26 with a prompt bar, org health and usage metrics, and conversation recommendations to let you quickly get started working with an agent to complete common tasks.

The Setup agent supports many administrative tasks, including:

          • Managing users
          • Troubleshooting user access
          • Managing permission sets, permission set groups, organization-wide defaults, and sharing rules
          • Creating custom objects and fields
          • Creating and managing flows
          • Getting information from Salesforce Help
          • Navigating to the right Setup page to complete a task
          • Creating a custom report type
          • Creating Lightning pages
          • Creating, modifying, and getting an explanation of formulas
          • Getting information about usage and licenses
          • Create a Salesforce mobile app and its pages

The Setup agent respects user permissions, and doesn’t make any changes without your approval. Reply to the suggested change with “Confirm,” “Proceed,” or “Yes,” for example, and the agent makes the suggested changes.

Agentforce respects only standard Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) 2 branding and themes in Setup, not custom SLDS 2 themes. If you have a standard SLDS 2 theme enabled in your org, then the new Setup Home and the rest of Setup reflect that theme, with the exception of dark mode. Dark mode isn’t supported.

If you’re using an SLDS 1 theme, enabling Setup with Agentforce doesn’t activate SLDS 2 for your org. Agentforce respects your SLDS 1 styling in Setup.

You can share feedback about Setup with Agentforce in the dedicated Trailblazer Community group.

          Note
Note We recommend that you use Setup with Agentforce (Beta) instead of the Agent for Setup released in March 2025. Setup with Agentforce supports many more Setup tasks and is updated automatically with new functionality. If you're looking for documentation on the previously released Agent for Setup, see this guide.
          • Configure Setup with Agentforce (Beta)
Before you can use the Setup agent, you must enable both Agentforce and Setup with Agentforce.
          • Assign Required Permissions and Access for Setup with Agentforce (Beta)
Review access requirements for Setup with Agentforce and how to configure this access for users.
          • Set Up Enhanced Conversation Recommendations (Beta)
By default, Setup with Agentforce conversation recommendations are personalized using your Setup Audit Trail and your Setup agent conversations. To improve your recommendations in searches and agent conversations, turn on Enhanced Conversation Recommendations. This feature collects your page views, CRUDs (create, read, update, and delete actions), and other runtime data, and then exports your insight to Data 360 and the personalization layer to improve Setup agent recommendations.
          • Setup Home with Agentforce (Beta)
In Winter ’26, Setup Home was redesigned to provide a more efficient experience, and enhanced with dedicated tiles from Salesforce Go and more. Agentforce takes that new Home page and gives it an AI upgrade, adding a prompt bar where you can ask questions or enter a prompt to start working with the agent.
          • Use Setup with Agentforce (Beta)
You can get started with Agentforce from any page in Setup.
          • Agentforce Capabilities in Setup (Beta)
Agentforce can assist with many common administrative tasks in Setup. Review the available capabilities and supported features that help streamline your work and increase efficiency.
          • Considerations for Setup with Agentforce (Beta)
When using Agentforce in Setup, keep these supported functionality, usage, limitations, and other considerations in mind.
          • Review Data 360 Configuration for Setup with Agentforce (Beta)
After you enable Setup with Agentforce, Data 360 components are created to ingest and organize data for use by the Setup agent. For the Setup agent to complete all of its supported tasks, these components must be present in your org.
