Execute a Right to Be Forgotten Request

Apply a Right to Be Forgotten policy to a customer record to delete the data from Salesforce.

          User Permissions Needed
To create and use Right to Be Forgotten policies: ModifyAllData and PrivacyCenter
          Available in: all editions

When you submit a Right to Be Forgotten request, the policy you selected is added to a queue that runs every 24 hours. You have the option to delete or immediately execute the request. After 24 hours, or after you immediately run the request, the entire customer record is deleted with no option to undo the action or restore the record.

To execute a Right to Be Forgotten request:

          1. From the Privacy Center dashboard, under Right to Be Forgotten Policies, click View All.
          2. Under Right to Be Forgotten (RTBF) Requests, enter the Record ID. For more information on how to find a Record ID, see Find the ID of a record type.
          3. Select the policy you want to apply to the request.
          4. To add your execution request to a queue that runs every 24 hours, click Submit.
            RTBF requests modal
          5. Optionally, you can execute the request immediately or remove it from the queue. In the RTBF Requests tile, click the name of your request, and then click Run Now.

View the status and result of your request under RTBF Requests. You also see a history of all previous requests submitted.
