To change the look of Lightning Experience, select your preferred combination of field
label alignment and the amount of space between page elements. If your admin has enabled dark
mode (beta), you can also choose whether to view Salesforce with a light or dark color
theme.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Group, Essentials, Professional,
Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer
Editions
Note Dark mode is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com or a written Unified Pilot Agreement if executed by
Customer, and applicable terms in the Product Terms Directory. Use of this pilot or beta service is at the
Customer's sole discretion.
At the top of a Salesforce page, click your image. Then select a display density setting.
Comfy is a spacious view with labels on the top of fields and more space between page
elements.
Compact is a denser view with labels to the left of fields and less space between page
elements.
Warning When you change the density, the page instantly reloads, so save any
changes beforehand. If you have multiple browser tabs open, refresh the other tabs in use to
see the new display density setting.
Select a color mode.
Light mode uses brighter colors and stands out well during daytime hours.
Dark mode uses a darker color theme to make Salesforce easier on your eyes during nightime
hours.
System mode syncs with the light and dark settings that you’ve configured for your
computer or, if you access Salesforce through a mobile web browser, your mobile device
operating system. Color mode isn’t available for the Salesforce mobile app.
