Recurring Donations Overview

Recurring giving is a dependable source of revenue for nonprofits. Donors who give regularly tend to continue giving for many years, and sometimes increase the amounts they donate. When donors want to adjust how and when they give in response to changes in their lives, your organization must be able to respond efficiently. You'll find the ability to do this and more with Recurring Donations in NPSP.

In spring of 2020, the Salesforce.org fundraising team, in partnership with the nonprofit user community, rebuilt Recurring Donations for NPSP. This next generation of Recurring Donations offers an improved workflow for entering donation records, and updating schedule details such as amount or payment date. Recurring Donations also integrates with the Salesforce.org Elevate online donation platform.

When we need to differentiate between the new and the old versions in our product documentation, we refer to the old Recurring Donations feature as "Legacy Recurring Donations" and the new feature as "Enhanced Recurring Donations."

If you installed Nonprofit Success Pack before March 2021, your org might be configured to use Legacy Recurring Donations. Consider upgrading to Enhanced Recurring Donations.
